Cheddar Gold: One of the Cheddar series selected by Carl Klehm. It features two rows at large, bright-white petals surrounding a large center of brilliant gold petaloids that is sometimes adorned with a small burst of white petals. Garden Treasure: This intersectional hybrid more than lives up to its name. Big blooms, more like those of tree peonies, open yellow gold and feature red flares around a center of light green and cream. The color remains strong even in bright sunlight and the bloom is prolonged by side buds. The lemon-like fragrance is heavenly. Flowers begin to open midseason are held up well out of the distinctive green leaves on 27-inch stems. Laura Dessert: One of the first varieties bred to add some yellow to the peony garden. Blooming in the early midseason, the anemone-form flowers appear pink in bud, but as they open the guard petals turn creamy white. At the center a large tuft of petaloids open a light lemon-yellow color. A very floriforous, moderately fragrant peony of medium height and neat contrasting dark green foliage. Needs no staking. Roy Pherson's Best Yellow:This advanced hybrid marries unusual color with great plant form and vigor. Soft, true yellow single blooms open early atop the deep green, broad-leafed foliage of this plant, which grows to about 32 inches in height. Blooms are medium in size and of good substance.
